Routinow Help & Support

Routinow is a daily-routine and to-do execution app for iPhone and Mac. This page covers the most common actions and troubleshooting steps in the current version.

To-dos and reminders in 1.2

  • Tap a to-do's circle to show a green check and play a short bell; the item is then removed from the to-do list.
  • Tap its text to edit. Touch and hold any item to reorder it. Up to 99 to-dos are supported.
  • The right-hand ellipsis is no longer shown in 1.2. The older ellipsis deletion instructions below apply only to 1.0 / 1.1.
  • Choose and preview Gentle, Classic or Intense reminder sounds in Settings. Routine-completion applause is unchanged.
  • On iPhone, an in-app floating reminder can appear while the app is in the foreground. Background delivery uses system notifications and respects device volume, Silent Mode, Focus and notification settings.
  • Mac Strong Execution Mode still requires Pro and the Mac app to remain running. The app does not override system settings to force alarms or display cross-app overlays.

Notifications and routine reminders

  1. Open Settings and check System Notifications under Reminders.
  2. If the status is Not Requested, tap Allow Notifications and approve the system prompt.
  3. If the status is Off, allow Routinow in iPhone or Mac System Settings → Notifications.
  4. When creating or editing a routine, make sure its Reminder switch is on.

Snooze 10 min changes only that occurrence's reminder, not the routine's fixed schedule. Mac Strong Execution Mode displays its centered prompt only while the Mac app is running.

Private iCloud sync

Routinow does not require a separate account. When your device is signed in to iCloud, the app can use your private CloudKit database to sync routines, to-dos, completion state, order, and execution records between your own iPhone and Mac. Preferences such as text size and sound are stored on each device.

  1. Make sure both devices use the same Apple Account and are signed in to iCloud.
  2. Open Settings → Data and read the current Storage status.
  3. If the app reports local storage, check iCloud and the network, then quit and reopen it.

Do not email real task content, an Apple ID, a password, or a verification code when requesting help.

Adding, completing, and ordering to-dos

  1. Open To-Do and tap the “+” button in the upper-right corner.
  2. Touch and hold any to-do, then drag it to a target row to change its position.
  3. The first three items automatically show 1, 2, and 3. Other items do not show a number.
  4. Tap the circular check control to complete an item. Unfinished items carry forward naturally.
  5. In versions 1.0 / 1.1, tap “…” and confirm to delete a to-do.

With VoiceOver, use the Move Up or Move Down accessibility actions provided for each to-do.

Creating, editing, and completing routines

  1. Open Routine and tap the “+” button in the upper-right corner.
  2. Enter a name, start time, duration, repeat schedule, and reminder choice, then tap Done.
  3. Tap a routine row or its gray check box once to open Start, Snooze, Complete, Edit, and Archive.
  4. Double-tap the gray check box to complete the routine directly. It changes to green.

The free version supports up to three active routines. Pro unlocks unlimited routines.

Purchasing Pro and restoring purchases

  1. Open Settings and select Routinow Pro.
  2. Monthly, annual, and lifetime prices are those shown by your regional App Store.
  3. To recover a previous purchase, tap Restore Purchases on the Pro page.
  4. Use the same Apple Account that made the purchase on iPhone and Mac.

View, change, or cancel a subscription through your Apple App Store account settings.
